Walt Kowalski (Gran Torino)

Walt Kowalski is a grumpy old man in the movie Gran Torino. He is a veteran from the Vietnam War. Walt is a very racist old man and calls everything exactly how he sees it and is not afraid of anything. In one scene he is having a barbeque with his next door Asian neighbour kids. Thao had originally tried to steal Walts Gran Torino and Walt hated him but eventually they came to know eachother and became friends. Thao had a date lined up for that night but had no car so Walt told him he could take the Gran Torino. Walt started off in the movie as a grumpy old man with a hate-on for the world (especially his neighbours) and now was having a barbeque for them and was happy. This scene showed that Walt was actually a generous, kind man with a big heart.
